Not The Usual

Making So Simple 2 has opened our eyes to many interesting things and places we normally wouldn't have discovered or included in our plans if we were to go on holidays guided by our "trusty" travel books (which mainly introduce the commercial touristy spots and things). The objective of the show led us to dip deeper and search for people who do things a little differently and yet are able to make an impact in our lives. People Tree in Tokyo Jiyugaoka is one of them. http://www.peopletree.co.jp/

hi i agree with you! last month i went on a holiday with my girl friends guided by so simple instead. we checked out a few places mentioned in your show - kurkku, daikanyama and jiyugaoka. we didn't see people tree tho. and a pity we didnt get to take the tempura bus. but we love all those places. they're so different from the norm. i think you should start a so simple tour guide...hehe

hi Mian, I'm a big fan of So Simple and I love this blog becos there are so many new things to see and learn. Can I ask you what camera you use for all cool pictures? It's not a regular low res digital right?

You are definitely right. It would be almost impossible to discover so many unique and alternatives way of life if we were to follow a guidebook. I enjoyed every single episode of this show and envy your production team. Good Job! *Hint(Do you need additional help?)

Hi Mian, my name's Lynn, I chanced upon this blog only recently. So Simple is a wonderful show. So glad I found this blog. It got me linked to not only everything related to the show, but also blogs belonging to Pei Fen and you. And a friend of mine just told me you're the same Mian who used to be a fashion designer? If indeed you are, I must confess I'm a fan of yours! In fact I've met you before some years back at Australian Fashion Week in Sydney when you did a show there. We had a drink and chatted briefly sitting at the quay overlooking Sydney Harbor. I've always admired you since. You're very cool to me. (I've always been too shy to tell you). But I don't see you around anymore at shows. So you've switched to tv? So glad I have found you thru So Simple. Will email you and hopefully you still remember me and we could hang out?

Hey Lynn, I remember. You're that beautiful girl with that sharp black outfit and killer heels! We chatted a lot of about non-fashion stuffs which I thought was rather refreshing (I mean, everyone cared only about fashion during fashion week). Also you said you were moving to London? So did you? You got my email? If not, here it is mianhan@gmail.com. Drop me your contact and we'll arrange for coffee?

Oh hi pk, left out your question - i used a canon 300D digital-SLR for most of the photos here. Some others were taken with Sony digi-cam. The pink one you see Peifen holding in the show.

Have only been to Tokyo once. Before So Simple, I have never heard of some of the places like Chiba, Jiyugaoka and Daikanyama. Thanks to your blog I now have new places to go when I visit Tokyo again.
